In 2007 The CN Pensioners Atlantic regional council joined in the Future Generation race to preserve the history and the legacy of the Prince Edward Island Railway Workers.
Robert Trainor The president of the CN Pensioners Association. Council #9 and Vice President of the Atlantic Regional Council of the CN Pensioner Association have partnered with M.O.D.E. New Media Group to develop this project "Future Generation" A new media Story about the Prince Edward Island Railway workers who served the railway sinse 1871. Robert Trainor has co-developed and co-produced the Future Generation Project since 2005 M.O.D.E. New media has valued this partnership with Robert because of his Zeal to tell his story and to preserve the very important articles and content that remain to be found and collected.
The Future Generations Project will create new and exciting GPS triggering devices that have never before been used to educate and to motivate learning about Canada's history. The Virtual Cenotaph is about remembering Vets 24/7 not just once every year. This tool allows the student to track the solders from thier home front to the frount lines in Canada's war efforts. it will allow the student to experience the geography and the history allong the way.

Here is some information re. Future Generations Applicant: City of Charlottetown Future Generation Ad-Hoc Committee. This is committee was specifically set up in October 2006 by Charlottetown City council to develop The Future generation projects for the CN Pensioners Association.The committee works in association with with a cultural content creation group. M.O.D.E . Since 2004 we have worked as a group .Together we have proposed the development of a Future Generation Project for railway stories and a CTT service platform for railway communities throughout Prince Edward island on the Confederation Trail. Since 2004 our newly proposed technologies have been recommended for implementation in 2 major studies conducted for Trail Technologies and Cultural tourism product development on Prince Edward Island. Confederation Trail Phase II and The New Product Culture. These Studies tell us we are on track and in Time to create these technologies for railway communities. It is our hope to partnership to create these new content technology tools here on Prince Edward Island. foremost on the agenda of this meeting . Preserving and collecting content for the Prince Edward island railway workers and to create new economic opportunities to research and develop this content for Canada's Future Generations. Our project begins in Charlottetown York and Tracadie to create a new supplemental curriculum and CTT that facilitates the study of social studies for Atlantic Canadian Grade 5-6 students and creates a cultural technology used in tourism information centers and community portals to educate people about the railway workers of Prince Edward Island and the communities they worked and served thier country from. Project Outcomes Each railway community will recieve a package of services to develop railway content for thier community platform in CAP sites along the Confederation Trail. Seniors, students, cultural tourism and internet technologies will focus upon train stations and the railway workers of Prince Edward Island. Creating magnet for railway content and a vehicle to collect and project the digital artifacts for Future Generations of technologies and cultural sector employment in digital content and CTT. To be the first CTT railway in Prince Edward island for the Confederation Trail Our project team is dedicated to the development of this cultural Content for Future Generations. Welcome to the Future Generation podcast. My name is Robert Trainor reporting on the progress of The projects we have initiated here on Prince Edward island. The date is Friday Jan18th and I am currently podcasting from Charlottetown City hall. I would like to first wish everyone a happy new year. I hope all is well for you in this new year 2008. This month we are happy to say the the Future Generation project is on track . The Prince Edward island stories and Artifacts are being valued and action will be taking place in the collection of these stories and the artifacts associated to the history of the Prince Edward Island Railway. Time is everything to our project. Every day that passes is another opportunity to be collecting our history. Someday people will truly understand this reality of time and history. The history of the railway workers on Prince Edward Island is important and we will continue to work toward recording the history of the railway and the cultural impact on Prince Edward Islanders in every community and village along it's railway lines . These are the project we are building upon together with the community, Some may say why we are working to preserve our history here in the maritime s. Why this is important to every railway worker . our Railway workers legacy is important because we are the last of the line here on Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. We are speaking to the future generation and our history is not recorded as of yet. What message will the future generation recieve if we do not do somthing today. It is our privilege and duty to preserve the Prince Edward Island Railway Workers Legacy. I incourage us all to preserve this legacy that is a positive message to our youth about the railways history and our connect to one another.
